- I just installed a Quantum trailblazer 850 in my A3000. First, for
- jumper information, you can run down to Quantum's web pages (www.quantum.com)
- and get the jumper info for your drive.
-
- Quantum ships all there SCSI drives set for address 6 (which is the same
- as the original quantum in your A3000) and for termination. If you
- can count in binary, you should be able to figure out how the jumpers
- on the A0, A1, and A2 pins make up address 6. Since it ships terminated
- (active), there should be a jumper on the TE pins. If you don't need
- it terminated, you can remove the jumper. They also provide one spot
- for storing an extra jumper, but I don't rember what it is called.
-
- I am using the original PROTO -04 WD SCSI chip in my A3000.
-
- Oh, if you are planning on keeping your original drive in the computer,
- you'll have to do some work. Some people in the computer peripheral
- industry are brain dead, so the mounting holes and mounting screws
- are different between the 3.5" floppy drives and hard disks.
